Pierre Gélineau
Original Oil Paintings - peintures à l'huile originales

Self-taught Artist born and raised in Québec.
Began painting in Oils in the mid-60s.

See the painting 'far and away' and the text under it in the 'Landscapes' Gallery for some of my earliest influences.
Relocated to Vancouver Island as a teenager to live with my Grandparents as the student strike by the Cégep in Québec had kept me out of high school for several months in 1968.
I stopped painting by the late 60's.

 Summer 1973, Coquitlam, BC

Resided in the lower mainland, Alberta and Manitoba for several years during the 80s and 90s,
eventually coming back to the West Coast where I resumed painting by the late 90s.

"Art in your soul? Just do it!"

Became a member of, and the webmaster for, the Port Moody Art Association from the millennium to about 2012.

Participated in Port Moody's "Artist in the Park" program at Rocky Point Park,
from its inception around the millennium to 2006.
I only attended the Park sporadically thereafter for several more years.

Original works and Giclée prints on canvas were exhibited and sold from 2001 to 2012 through the Lone Cypress Gallery,
a commercial gallery in old Port Moody that is no longer there (owner retired).
Commissions were also handled through the gallery,
I do not do those anymore.

I subsequently relocated to Mission, BC in 2014,
where I took a decade long hiatus away from painting.

Now residing in Merritt, BC.
